Harbor jobs, listed by the ring

We do not sell a “full bag experience.” We sell collar work. Pick the job that matches the damage, not the one that sounds like a lesson package.

A

Single turn and seat

One ferrule, usually cracked, yellowed, or proud. We pull only if the ring will not slide. Dry mock, turn the OD, epoxy, fillet wipe, overnight hang if the joint was opened. Good for a driver that split its collar after a winter of attic storage.

B

Iron-set collar match

Four to eight irons that should share length and color. We photograph the set on the pier table under the same lamp, then pick stock from one dye lot. A mixed lot is how a 6-iron looks newer than a 7.

C

Tip-in with a chosen ring

Head off, tip prepped, ID selected, collar on before the head, then the head. Sequence matters. A ring shoved on after the epoxy has skinned will sit crooked forever. See the sit sequence.

D

Humidity re-seat

Swollen nylon, white bloom, paint line that crawled. We recut or replace, dry the neck, and use cabinet stock. If the head is also spinning, we treat that as a separate joint failure — the collar is not a clamp.

E

Color-band restock

No structural work. You want the black replaced with amber, or a vintage stripe matched. Tess pulls the drawer. If we do not have the stripe, we say so before we dye anything. Dye is a last resort and it never quite matches a molded band.

F

Putter neck collar

Plumber’s necks and heel-shafted blades wear tiny rings. The work is slower. A proud putter ferrule telegraphs in the address photo. See putter collars.

Not on the slate

Jobs we send away

  • Hosel boring, sleeve adapters, and aftermarket shaft sleeves — different bench, different tools
  • Loft and lie bending as a primary job (we will not hide a bent hosel under a new ring)
  • Grip installs unless the collar job already has the club open
  • Swing lessons, launch numbers, or a “see if the ferrule is why you slice”

By category

Rings that are not interchangeable

An iron collar is not a wood collar. A wedge ring is often shorter so the grind can see daylight. Hybrids sit in between and people try to reuse iron stock on them. That is how you get a step at the paint. Start with the category page, then book.

Read the tariff, then hold a slot

Prices live on the harbor board. A quote still needs the club in the room because swell and sit are not visible in a phone photo taken in a garage.
